EAGLE ALERT (Armstrong Campus): Mandatory Evacuation of Armstrong Campus Residence Halls by 9 p.m. TODAY

Georgia Southern University has announced a campus closure and evacuation of the Armstrong Campus following Governor Kemp’s mandatory evacuation order. All residence halls will close and residents must be out of the residence halls/apartments by 9:00 pm TODAY, Monday September 2.

Students in need of evacuation assistance should contact Director of Residence Life Nick Shrader at nshrader@georgiasouthern.edu or call the main housing office at 912-344-2940 by 5 pm Today, Monday, September 2.

Residents who cannot find any other alternate accommodations or who do not have an evacuation plan will be bused to the Statesboro campus and provided safe, temporary lodging. We encourage residents to explore other options such as traveling home or finding accommodations with a friend. The bus will leave campus at 8:00 am tomorrow, Tuesday September 3rd.  As a reminder students cannot stay on campus.

All residential spaces will be checked to ensure students have evacuated tomorrow morning beginning at 6:00 am.
