Our Guiding Philosophies
Service – Our purpose is to serve the needs of the University. As such, we understand that a focus on customer service is primary to providing best in class service. Emphasis is placed on courtesy, compassion, and communication.
Integrity – Our employees will at all times maintain the highest regard for personal and professional integrity. We will take ownership of our work areas and work products and be held accountable to ourselves, our teammates, and the customers we serve. We will always make decisions that are in the best interest of the University and for those who live, work, and visit here.
Innovation – We will continue to assess and improve our processes, – learning from our mistakes. We will seek out learning opportunities, best practices, and new technologies that enhance the way we function as individuals and as a team.
Safety – We embrace a culture that fosters a workplace where safety is first. The safety of students, faculty, and staff will shape our decisions to promote a safe campus community.
Stewardship – We will be responsible for the planning and management of the University’s resources and physical environment. Great care will be taken to adhere to all local, state, and federal laws.
Sustainability – We will set goals and designate resources to promote and achieve sustainability. We will protect the environment as we create and maintain campus buildings. We will promote environmental protection and sustainability practices to students, faculty, and staff.
Engagement – We realize the importance of employee engagement in the success of the division, and by extension the success of the University. Open communication and dialogue must occur, without the fear of judgment. We also realize the importance of engagement with the University and our customers. Employees are encouraged to participate in University events, sit on University committees, and bring to the table ideas on how the department can better serve the community.
